T R A F F I C R E G U L A T I O N S No. : TP/40, Dated : 24.09.2014 Whereas it is necessary for preventing danger, obstruction or inconvenience to the public in connection with the ID-UZ-ZOHA (Bakr-Id) festival on 6th October, 2014, I, Surajit Kar Purkayastha, Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, in exercise of powers vested in me under Section 115, 117, 122 and 126 M V Act, 1988 and Section 62, 62(1b) of Calcutta Police Act./ 39, 39(1b) of Calcutta Suburban Police Act read with Rule No. 85, 86, 87, 88 and 93 of Rules for the Regulations of Traffic in Kolkata and its suburbs and under sub-section(1) of Section 4 of the West Bengal Traffic Regulations Act, 1965 (W B Act XV of 1965) read with Govt. of West Bengal Home (Transport) Department Order No. 7605-WT, dated the 20th July, 1965 and Govt. of West Bengal Transport Department Notification No. 3363-WT / 3M- 34/99, dated the 29th April, 1999, do hereby order that all classes of vehicles and all kinds of traffic including pedestrian traffic to the following areas and all the following thoroughfares or portions thereof shall be regulated in the manner prescribed below, notwithstanding any other orders in force on 06.10.2014. (I) a) Movements of Heavy goods vehicles, Medium goods vehicles carrying goods shall be temporarily restricted / suspended and / or diverted within the city of Kolkata (Kolkata Police jurisdiction) from 04.00 hrs to 22.00 hrs on 06.10.2014. However, the restrictions of goods vehicles will continue upto 06.00 hours next day i.e. on 07.10.2014 in connection with Durga Puja Immersion, as mentioned in the Traffic Regulation, vide No. TP/39, dt. 18.09.2014. b) Heavy goods vehicles, Medium goods vehicles and Light Motor vehicles carrying goods for Kolkata Dock System will not find entry from 04.00 hours till 12.00 hours on 06.10.2014. c) Movement of Light Motor Vehicles, carrying goods, in the city shall be restricted from 04.00 hours to 20.00 hours, however, the roads will be opened to Light Motor Vehicles between 12:00 hours and 15:00 hours on 06.10.2014. (II) Vehicles of all description including Tram Cars are likely to be temporarily suspended or diverted or rerouted or shall take a detour from the following roads and approaches from 04.00 hours to 12.00 hours according to the directions of police on duty on 06.10.2014. (IV) Parking of vehicles shall not be ordinarily allowed around the prayer sites, though parking of vehicles can be done further away from the prayer sites. Cars and other vehicles, which carry devotees for prayers at the following places, will be allowed to park as mentioned below: 1) For Red Road - a) Bangabasi Ground (entry through Plassey Gate Road). b) On the field situated east of Dufferin Road (Town Club and YMCA Club Grounds). 2) For Kalighat Ground - a) In and around the ground except the Prayer site. 3) For Tipu Sultan Mosque - a) Southern side of Esplanade Row East. 4) For Rajabazar - a) Western side of APC Roy Road, north of Rajabazar Science College. b) Western side of APC Roy Road, from Kali Some Street to Victoria College. (V) THESE REGULATIONS WILL REMAIN IN FORCE IN ADDITION TO THE OTHER NORMAL RESTRICTIONS ON THE DAY, WHICH ARE NOT REPUGNANT TO ABOVE. * * * * * * * * *
