T minus 9 days: I didnt want to leave this morning. Jaime didnt have too much on her plate today, and all I wanted to do was hang out with her and keep her busy. but, duty calls, and it was time to make the donuts. she kept in touch with me today and told me about her PT. she spent a good amount of time upright, and also spent some time walking, practicing. another skill that she will be working on this week is getting herself up from a laying down position, from the floor. so it will require getting your knees under you and having the strength to raise up from there. it will be one of the more difficult things shell tackle this next 9 days. when I got back to the room, ready to eat moms cooking again, there was a visitor. Marianne Reed, a high school friend of Jaimes, was in town and dropped by to say hello. they had a nice visit and she dropped off some fresh apples and dessert too! Thanks Marianne. also tonight, I was able to touch base with a long time friend. Nathan Kmieciak. weve been friends since middle school, him and his lovely wife for that matter, Joanie Kmieciak. they were at our wedding. long story short, our lives after school took us in opposite geographical locations. and weve done a pretty crappy job of staying in touch. but one quick ten minute phonecall made it all better. it was just great to speak to you tonite Nate. and I Appreciate the kind words and all the prayers. Ill head to bed heart full. dinner was delicious, and my lady is plain wiped out. so Ill let her snoring serenade me while I look forward and pray for even more progress this week.
