TAD PGS, INC. is currently seeking a Deployment Engineer for one of our clients in Washington, DC. Must have an active Secret Clearance. Responsibilities: *Acts as the company engineering representative with overarching responsibility for implementation and optimization of hardware and/or software products and multi-vendor systems at customer sites. Includes oversight of the installation process and test procedures to diagnose and resolve product performance problems at installation. *Identifies areas requiring product improvement and approves/implements upgrades and hardware or software engineering change orders. *Provides feedback and customer support regarding product performance problems and suggested solutions which may require product exchanges or more complex problem solving. *Prepares and conducts special reports and presentations pertinent to company products and services, field operations or other applications. *Plans, prepares and conducts on-the-job training as required in support of the foregoing activities. *May oversee a team of field service technicians and train, monitor, and otherwise assist lower level service technicians. This job may include any aspect of field support, and is not limited to system hardware and software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking. Scope: *Responsible for technical support for larger, complex LAN/WAN. Involves comprehensive knowledge of this technical field and the ability to complete difficult and complex assignments. *Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. *Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules. *Establishes and recommends changes to policies which affect subordinate organizations. Problem Complexity: *Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of clients data requires an evaluation of various factors. *Exercises independent judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. *Ensures project schedules and performance requirements are met. Impact: *Contributes to the development of organizations goals and objectives. *Decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules. Liaison: *Regularly interacts with customer and/or functional per group managers. May interact with senior management. Interactions normally involve matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. *May serve in a lead role and train others. *May oversee more than one team. *Interfaces with customers and communicates with management and field personnel. Freedom To Act: *Coordinates the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods, and employees. *May be responsible for the technical direction, leadership, and training of less experienced staff. Leadership and Management: Knowledge/Skills and Ability: *Having knowledge and experience, able to handle seldom and unusual occurring job events. *Ability to complete complex assignments. *May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and provide guidance to nonexempt personnel. *Knowledge of assigned products, company functions, service policies and procedures and good communication skills. *Interfaces with marketing and customers to add new or custom features to company products or services. Education and Experience: *Advanced technical degree in a related field and 7+ years experience in an engineering field with a minimum of 3 years supervisory responsibilities. *MCSE, CCNA and PMI certifications are a plus.
