TAD PGS, INC. is currently seeking a NDT Chemical Inspector- Fluorescent Penetrant, Level II for one of our clients in Auburn, AL. **This is a contractual position, 6 months** Job Purpose: Perform physical and chemical inspections including; Fluorescent Penetrant inspections on various types of aircraft engine components. Handle parts, denote non-conformances and document and reject parts as required. Prepare and/or check inspection solutions and agents, clean parts before and after inspection, operate all related inspection equipment and material handling devices. Maintain records and perform related duties. Essential Functions: *Perform both physical and chemical inspections including: fluorescent penetrant. *Associated specifications are P3TF47 Class A with limits defined in P29TF7 Class A and FPD-STD-45D2 - Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection. *Set up and perform such tests per the associated NDT procedures and analyze NDT data per associated company quality requirements. *Collect, interpret and evaluate the data relative to engineering or project requirements. *Inspect, evaluate and document process results. *Maintain chemicals utilized for tests at proper levels as required. *Maintain chemicals utilized for tests within the expiration period as required. *Test, evaluate and maintain control panels as required. *Clean parts before/after inspection as required by process. *Clean up any chemical run-off associated with the inspection processes. *Must be Level II certified and must maintain Level II certification per NAS 410 for each NDT method. *Maintain Current Eye Exam per NAS 410 as necessary for each NDT method. *Train and mentor 3-4 operators to become Level I certified in fluorescent penetrant, with a plan to become Level II certified thereafter. *May be required to do minor maintenance on equipment. *Technicians will comply with all local Auburn Plant EHS practices. Basic Qualifications: *Technician must be located at the Auburn, Alabama facility. *Education: High School degree or equivalent. *AA Degree and/or at least 2 years prior work experience in a manufacturing operation or equivalent military experience. *Must have basic computer skills and be able to use computers, on-line applications and the MSOffice Suite of tools. *Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively. *Documented training hours of Level II / I per NAS 410 requirements. *Candidates must successfully complete an exam on fundamentals of fluorescent penetrant process. *Operator required to stand 90% of the time, stooping, bending, stretching, and awkward positioning is also necessary. Desired: *Prior chemical manufacturing process work experience. *Prior Aircraft Engines operations experience. *Must be able to read and interpret blueprint and engineering drawings, and be able to document non-conformances as required company specification S-065 (this training will be provided by Company). Eligibility Requirements: *Must be 18 years or older. *Must be willing to take and successfully pass a drug test as part of the selection process. Expense to be covered by the supplier. *Must be willing to submit and successfully pass a background investigation as part of the selection process. Expense to be covered by the supplier. *Must be willing to complete a written assessment of knowledge as part of the selection process. *Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. *If not a citizen of the US, must be authorized by the US Department of Energy and US Department of Commerce, to receive disclosure of certain technical information, prior to being hired to work in the Transportation business. *Continuous visual concentration will be necessary to develop and maintain tolerance. *Must be able to work off shifts. Equipment: *Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection: *Equipment will be owned and maintained by Company. Technician will act as custodian of equipment. *Cleaning of the part must be performed along with shelf life traceability. Associated specifications are P3TF47 Class A with limits defined in P29TF7 Class A and FPD-STD-45D2 - Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection. *Company will provide the facilities to accomplish the proposed testing.
