TAD PGS, INC. is currently seeking an Associate Purchasing Agent for one of our clients in Fairfield, CA. Duration: 5 months Hours: 7:30 - 4:00 with 30 minute lunch Job Overview: The Associate Purchasing Agent is responsible for the day-to-day tactics required to procure direct material or indirect services and to manage purchase orders from request for quote to supplier payment. He/She is required to balance the tradeoffs of inventory and shipping costs to achieve low inventories and on time-delivery schedules through day to day supplier communications, management of reorder quantities, and ERP requirement signal management. Responsible for accurate payment and payment schedules to supplier. Primary Responsibilities: *Procurement of direct material or indirect services while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct. *Interfacing with external customers, internal manufacturing customers, supplier quality, shipping/receiving, accounts payable to foster highest customer satisfaction while adhering to aerospace requirements. *Tracking supplier performance through supplier metrics ensuring quality, on-time-delivery, and low total cost of ownership. *SAP data management. *Tracking and expediting purchase orders throughout the supply chain; from the placement of the order, to receipt of product or service, to quality exceptions, to payment of the supplier. *Identifying and facilitating implementation of supplier performance improvement opportunities. *Minimizing inventory levels, shipping costs, and non-standard charges. *Analyzes distribution and storage of goods to minimize costs and maximize profitability. *Forecasts inventory levels, equipment and manpower requirements in order to achieve desired delivery times and order fill rates. *Must adhere to all EH & S regulations and policies as well as attend required training courses related to EH & S. *Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: *Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or equivalent studies preferred. *2 years related work experience in a manufacturing environment. *Understands Lean Principles. *Understands Contractual Terms and Conditions. *Demonstrated Leadership Abilities. *Some Travel. *APICs or ISM certification a plus (CPIM, CPM, CSCP, CSCP).
