TAG AND SHARE HEADS UP CLERMONT INCOMING SEVERE THUNDERSTORM. LIKELY HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS. OTHER CENTRES MAY BE AT RISK OVER THE COMING HOURS TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for LARGE HAILSTONES, DAMAGING WIND and HEAVY RAINFALL For people in parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields Forecast District. Issued at 8:10 pm Friday, 5 December 2014. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce large hailstones, damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Emerald, Clermont, Blackwater, Moranbah, Rolleston, Springsure, Capella, Dysart and Elgin Downs. Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Northwest, Channel Country, Wide Bay and Burnett and Southeast Coast districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: * Move your car under cover or away from trees. * Secure loose outdoor items. * Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters. * Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. * Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500. The next warning is due to be issued by 11:10 pm. Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureaus website at bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 219.
