TAILOR-MADE STUDY TOUR AND TRAINING PROGRAM FOR SRI LANKAN FISHERIES OFFICERS A weeklong activity known as “Study tour and knowledge sharing program accentuating on community-based and coastal fisheries management in Thailand” was organized from 8 September 2013 for six trainees from Sri Lanka’s Department of Fisheries and Post Tsunami Coastal Rehabilitation and Resource Management Program. Apart from the main themes, the training also covered the concepts of ecosystem approach to fisheries management, responsible fisheries. After the theoretical training at the SEAFDEC Training Department’s premises at Samut Prakarn, the trainees were taken to observe the activities of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit Project in Phetchaburi Province that highlighted its famous sea farming. -By SEAFDEC/Training Department
