TAKE THE FIRST STEP Mark 16:20 ‘and they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.’ My precious friends in Christ, whenever at a prayer service, when we say all those who want to serve God come in front, pretty much the entire congregation is in front. To be honest it is actually great that the desire to serve God is in hearts of the people. Indeed Jesus Himself has called us all to His service as per Matthew 28:19. Furthermore Revelation 1:6 calls us kings and priests unto God our Father. Hence beloved we are all called for service. But precious friends how many of us actually take the next step and put our commitment to serve God into action. If you look at Mark 16:20 it says ‘they went out.’ Yes precious friends the apostles went out and preached everywhere. They did their part and when they went out only could the Lord work with them and confirm the Word with signs, wonders and miracles. If the apostles had decided to just wait in Jerusalem and not do anything we probably would not have ever heard the gospel. Yes my beloved friends, the Lord has called you and He has given you His Holy Spirit not just for your benefit but for His benefit which is the expansion of the kingdom of Heaven. Paul tells Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:6 ‘Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you.’ God has given us the gifts required to serve Him. It is our duty to put them into action. So beloved why don’t you talk to someone about the Lord. When someone is in need why don’t you pray for that person? Why don’t you start a prayer cell in your home and you can invite a few people and share the Word and Lead worship. Your living room can be the place where hundreds are saved. Remember the early church did not operate in big buildings like today. The church operated in hundreds of homes spread across the world. Through these network of churches only the gospel spread so rapidly. So beloved in these the last days as spoken of in Joel 2:28-29, the Lord is pouring out His Spirit on everybody so that all of us will be part of the end time army which will prepare this world for the soon return of Jesus Christ. So precious friends it is high time you put the desire of your heart into action. Take the first step and do something for the Lord from today. God bless you – Romesh Daniels.
