TAKE YOUR TURN! “Let all things be done decently and in order.” (1 Corinthians 14:40) Many years ago, a military ruler in Nigeria launched a programme tagged “War Against Indiscipline (WAI)”. The programme enforced orderliness in the country. Everyone queued up, old and young. WAI was successful but exited with the military rule. Oh, how we long for a return of WAI in our disorderly society! But stop, and read today’s text again: “Let all things be done decently and in order.” This advice from the Scripture has been before WAI was introduced, and is still on. Our God is a God of order. Beloved youth, this counsel is for you. A Christian youth should not exhibit indiscipline at any moment and anywhere. As a Christian, you should be patient. Take your turn! You should queue up at bus stops, banks, business centres, dining hall, admission office, lecture halls and in other places. Ungodly youngsters create confusion by shunting on a queue. God expects you to be orderly, so do not join them. You have enough of God’s grace to be patient, humble, honest and orderly. Be an example that others would follow. Challenge: Brighten the corner where you are. Prayer: Heavenly Father, give me grace to live a decent and orderly life. Further Reading: 1 Corinthians 14:26-33
