TALKING TO LIBERALS, TALKING TO THE HAND Imagine that you were - TopicsExpress

TALKING TO LIBERALS, TALKING TO THE HAND Imagine that you were talking to a liberal, and then imagine that you are talking to the hand, but there I go breaking one of my New Year Resolutions already, a mere three days after the fact. I resolved, on January 1, that I would not repeat myself, in 2015, so “my bad,” as a liberal would say. I am assuming that a liberal said it because all slang that has ever existed on the earth has been created by liberals, who, when stringing two coherent sentences together, I always feel like rising from my seat, when that happens, and giving the person a standing ovation. Yesterday was a case in point because a liberal owed me a breakfast, and I was willing to suffer through the conversation to eat a free meal. It helps with my bursitis, which acts up when I spend my money. I think the problem is too much watching “Jack Benny” on television, as a kid, and it might have something to do with the fact that nothing costs a penny any more. I was collecting on a breakfast bet I made on the football game between Oregon and Florida State. I won the bet, for a change, which is rare because liberals know more about football than conservatives, and when it comes to betting a breakfast on basketball, I think I have bought breakfast for every liberal in the country, so I need to stop going there. Sometimes, well, most of the time, OK, all of the time, I am over my head in these football and basketball conversations with liberals. They can tell you the line-ups of all the college and pro basketball teams, all the teams in the football playoffs, and how many dribbles it takes to go from one end of the basketball all the way to a slam dunk at the other end. Anything that doesn’t require any thinking, it is impossible to compete with liberals on that level. The punishment, in my case, always comes when liberals stop talking about sports, and start talking about, let’s say for reference purposes, any subject where something of substance would be, like, nice to hear, which if you are waiting to hear it from some of my liberal associates, bring a picnic basket. You will be there for a while. My 12th grade English teacher, Mrs. Reed, would not be pleased to hear some of the words being used, during these meals, whether I win, or lose, since some of the words liberals use are not found in a single dictionary on this side of the sun. When speaking, and they can’t find a word in a timely manner to express what they are feeling, and more excruciating, saying, they’t just make some word up, and then ask, “You feel me?” Fortunately, for Mrs. Reed, on these occasions, those are my ears being punished, clobbered, in fact, and not Mrs. Reed’s ears, bless her heart. Knowing her, Mrs. Reed is probably teaching Gabriel some English, in Heaven, right now, if he is still speaking Aramaic. [In case you are wondering, it was some time ago when I was in Mrs. Reed’s 12th grade, before women realized that “Mrs.” was property possessive, hiding what was really being said, “Mr.’s.” I wrote Mrs. Reed’s name, here, in this form, as a time piece.] The discussion during breakfast yesterday was at its best when the conversation was on basketball and football. That part of the discourse went quite nicely with my free meal, so I’ll start with sports, in stating some of the things I would like to see, or expect to see, in 2015, that I didn’t see, in 2014. What I would like to see, in basketball, in 2015, is the establishment of a civil rights organization called the NAAWPB, an acronym for National Association for the Advancement of White People in Basketball. All of this talk about “white privilege,” with Obama sitting in the White House, as if only his white side is sitting in there, discounts whites’ lack of privilege on the basketball court. If there is white privilege, in basketball, it means that there are some games ESPN is not broadcasting because it sure isn’t in evidence, in any of these basketball games I am seeing, although I admit I only watch the basketball playoffs. Nevertheless, I am aware that upwards of 80% of the basketball players in the NBA are black. I would, thus, like to see some white affirmative action on that to reflect 69%, in keeping with whites’ percentage in the general population. That way, blacks, in this country, might get a few more Dr. Ben Carsons, and fewer Dr. J’s, evening the numbers out a bit, because I don’t think Julius Erving has ever dribbled a basketball in, like, a hospital. When switching to football (and please feel free to call me if you see a white football player in the backfield, in the NFL, preparing to run the ball who won’t slide like he is going into second base, once a potential tackler gets close), we can change the “B,” so you can give me an “F,” instead, for the football equivalent, as we move on to civil rights for white men in football, who, according to the film, know they can’t jump, and now need to learn that there is no sliding in football. They already know there is no crying in baseball. And no, John Boehner is not a baseball player; he is doing his crying as Speaker of the House; although we don’t know who he is speaking for, on the planet. We have been able to discern, undoubtedly, that he sure ain’t speaking for anybody in this country. On a positive note, I have a dream today. Today, at the funeral of New York Police Officer Wenjian Liu, I have a dream that the thousands of uniformed police officers from across the U.S., who will be in attendance, will wait to see, first, if Mayor W. De Blasio will have enough integrity, at the funeral, to turn his back, while he speaks, and if not, all police officers present, should take the matter into their backs, and turn their “back around. . Contrary to what is being said about the need for police officers to show courtesy and professionalism toward De Blasio, there would be nothing more fitting as a tribute to the deceased officer, than for officers to turn their backs on this mayor, if he does not, Tracey Chapman-like, turn his own back around. No one has been more unprofessional than this mayor, who is dishonoring the deceased by his very presence at this funeral. If you don’t think so, imagine another mobster, Al Capone, for instance, mowing somebody down, in the street, and then showing up at the person’s funeral. You would say that is not what De Blasio did, and you would be right. This mobster had Al Sharpton do his dirty work, but Al knows he is not welcome, and will not be there. To sit in the audience, at that funeral today, of this decent officer who lost his life, after having been impersonally demonized by a man who heads the government in New York City, without turning their backs on De Blasio, would actually be a public disgrace, and an incredible affliction upon Officer Wenjian Liu’s family, although family members are much too civil to say so, themselves, so I am appointing myself as family spokesperson, in this case, even though I haven’t spoken to any of Liu’s family members. I am simply going by the fact that I wouldn’t want De Blasio at a funeral of one of my family members, under such circumstances, so I am taking that as a guide, although I realize that some are not as narrow-minded as I am, and not as biased against this mayor as I am. I have to admit I would like to bust him one, but Dr. King’s birthday will be coming up soon, and I am reminded not to go around karate chopping anybody. Officer Liu was 32 years old, at the time of his death, and had served as a policeman for seven years, with honor, and had been married for just two months when he was killed along with his partner, Officer Rafael Ramos, December 20, with the latter’s funeral held a week ago. I’ll be watching, waiting, and hoping. In addition, I would like to see politicians like New York Governor Andrew Cuomo shut up, in 2015. His comments at the wake were outrageous. Here’s what this man said after the wake: This is a really tragic story. This is really pointless. It had nothing to do with them, referring to Officers Liu and Ramos. They did nothing wrong. ... It was pure and random hatred. Notice the nuanced comments, by Governor Cuomo, implying the arresting officers, in the Eric Garner case, did do something wrong. Maybe Governor Cuomo would like to tell us what Eric Garner did wrong, and demonstrate the technique he would have used to bring a 350 pound man down to the ground who was resisting arrest, since I don’t think playing a Flute would do the trick. In 2015, I hope I will at least one politician, involved in this case, at any level, say that Eric Garner, a man who had been arrested more than 30 times before, who had resisted arrest before, and was arrested despite his resistance before, and, thus, knew the drill before any of what happened, happened, would still be alive, today, if had have complied with the police officer’s commands, which brings me, now, to the media. I have no confidence, whatsoever, that the liberal news media, in 2015, will stop its all, but total disdain for the truth in its news reporting, also using nuanced language, such as “chokehold,” but never saying Garner was choked, evidence of consciousness of liability. Eric Garner wasn’t choked; he died of a heart attack, on his way to the hospital, brought on by events that followed his refusal to comply with police who told Garner to put his hands behind his back, after telling him he was under arrest. At no time after that was there the slightest chance he would be un-arrested. His refusal invited force, and force was used. Yu can’t predict the outcome in such cases, and since no brain-dead politician will say it, it is being said here, without apology. The media is the Fourth Estate, in this country, and it is a dangerous tool in the hands of liberals who are constantly manufacturing news stories. The best I can hope for, in 2015, in terms of the media, is that people will understand what role the media is playing in these civil wars in this country, ignited by the media which doctored a tape in the Trayvon Martin case, and created this “gentle giant” nonsense in the Michael Brown case, along with this “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” nonsense, all media-driven creations, all fabrications, out of whole cloth, by the very dangerous media. This mid-decade period is the year that Eric Holder will be stepping down as Attorney General of the United States, and while Loretta Lynch is in line to take Holder’s place, which means more of the same, it does not mean more of the same person, and that is about as much as we can expect in the absence of someone with integrity such as Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke being appointed. It is hoped that the Senate will hastily confirm Lynch’s appointment, not because she will be an impartial officeholder, in a role where impartiality should be an absolute, but because Holder’s disgraceful performance demands his departure at the earliest possible moment. Hopefully, Eric Holder will be gone before the end of this month. It is not clear what it will take for MSNBC to demonstrate some dignity, in 2015, but one indication of whether it happens, this year, will be if Al Sharpton is still hosting a program on this network at the end of this year. If Sharpton is still there, I expect to see Fox studio’s numbers continue to climb, in 2015. Finally, what I hope to see, in 2015, is total gridlock in Washington. The entire federal government is dysfunctional, and if the three branches of government, all of them totally out of control, start to cooperate with each other, this country is really doomed. On a personal note, I have pledged not to talk to the hand as much in 2015, as I did in 2014, which means I will not be havinga whole lot of discussions with liberals this year., breakfast, or no breakfast.
