TALOFA LAVA FB Family and Friends! 2015 is The H.A.I.A. Foundations 10th Birthday! We are truly blessed to be able to serve in the capacity weve been called to do. Weve had tremendous challenges... but, with these challenges... weve been truly blessed by #GOD and all of our Supporters to be in our 10th year... with NO #GRANTFUNDING... weve survived as a Foundation through #privatefunding (as in money from my hubby and Is pockets) and our Annual #HAIAGOLFTOURNEY for this long. We have an awesome Board of Directors who give of their time and love so unselfishly and our #faithful volunteers. We are in the midst of forming several blessed community partnerships to further serve the children of #POLYNESIA better. We are preparing for HAIAs Annual #IHAVEADREAM College Campus/Camps Tour that takes place every summer. It is an integral part of #HAIA #summerenrichmentprogram. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to do such a thing... but, it does take a lot of preparation and connecting of key partnerships in the States we visit to help alleviate some of the financial burden. Its a huge responsibility to take upon ourselves to be Mom and Dad to 30 Student/Athletes with raging testosterone and pride bigger than Mount Kilimanjaro coming from all walks of life... My Babe and I take this responsibility very seriously... cause weve been entrusted with the lives of these handsome/beautiful children of God by their Parents. HAIAs Annual #IHAD Summer Tour helps us to deliver on our #MISSIONSTATEMENT of our #3Es EMPOWERING... EDUCATING... ENRICHING... the lives of the children were blessed to serve. As a #POLYNESIAN... statistics will show that more than 70% of those that go to college do so on an #athleticscholarship. Whats been happening is many end up quitting school after 1 semester due to #CULTURESHOCK #unprepared #homesick #girlsick #boysick. They think #collegelife is a breeze... but, they arrive onto their various campuses across the nation with a rude awakening, that Mom and Dad... Papa and Grandma, Uncle and Aunty will no longer be their alarm clock to wake them up to go to school... And, their personal maids (Us Parents/Family Members) no longer around to do their laundry, cook etc. A myriad of reasons present themselves to these Student/Athletes to justify their AH JUST GO HOME ALREADY. Whats the solution? The solution is... #relevance #handson experience... to live, eat, breathe, sleep what #collegelife will be like. More than 50% of the #studentathlete that go on our Annual IHAD tour... will actually be their 1st time off the rock... so can you imagine their WOW... SHOCK? HAIAs mission is to help cultivate and develop #wellroundedchildren. Athletics is but a small part to what it is we do as a #FOUNDATION! Come and find out what it is we do.
