TANAP, Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project, called out for its first bidding. Requested firms include one joint venture and 6 local companies. In total, the project requested 18 companies for the bidding of the construction of main steel pipes. As you remember, the project foresees the transportation of Caspian gas via Turkey to Europe. Therefore calling for bidders is a key step for the project. The entrance point of the line is Türkgöz, the district on the border of Turkey and Azerbaijan, and the line leaves Turkey on the Greek border; there is also two exit points in Turkey in Eskişehir and Trakya region. If the project goes according to plan, the first gas flow will be on 2018. The project requires similar experience from the firms to build the steel pipes.
