TAPATAN BLUES FOR BINAY By Philip Jr Lustre Just got words from my very reliable sources. And I am not kidding about what I am going to tell you, my dear netizen-friends. People should not be bothered by the strategy of Vice President Jejomar Binay to move around the country and go straight to the people to argue his case concerning serious allegations of corruption he and his family currently face. His political enemies have come out with a counter-strategy to frustrate whatever gains or inroads of his decision to roam around the country. I got confirmation on their new strategy. Whichever place he goes, his political enemies have devised ways and means to reach out to the same audience he reaches. Take for instance Cebu City. Without Binay and his party knowing it, his enemies had initiated forums on corruption issues for a select groups of community leaders. Several student leaders, religious people, and barangay people attended the anticorruption forum, where various key leaders spoke about the whys and wherefores of a sustained anticorruption drive. No amount of handshaking or outright denials by Binay could match the anticorruption forums. In the end, the community leaders had agreed that Binay should face the corruption issues hounding him. The strategy is low key. No media coverage, no announcement, no big deal for the participants, actually. But it is most potent. Expect his enemies to sustain this strategy. Its tapatan blues for the Vice President.
