TAPS Partners with City of Allen to Give Workers Public Transportation Access to Jobs Just in time for Black Friday —the Friday following Thanksgiving Day and traditionally the biggest retail shopping day of the year— thousands of workers employed by businesses in the city of Allen will be able to avoid the heavy traffic and overflow parking lots by getting on the bus. Through a partnership with regional transportation provider, TAPS Public Transit, anyone who works in the city along one of two routes, can get on board and relax on the way to their job. Three new routes will begin running in the city of Allen on Monday, November 18. Two local routes —designated 301 and 302—run between the Allen Event Center and Allen Central Park on Central Park Drive, across from Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm, on the east and west side of U.S. Highway 75. A third route will connect passengers from the Allen Event Center to Allen Central Park, and from Allen Central Park to the DART light rail station at Parker Road in Plano. All three routes operate 7 days a week Buses will run from 5:15 a.m. until 12:00 a.m. weekdays, with breaks in service at non-peak times; 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 a.m. on Saturdays; 9:45 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sundays. Detailed route information and schedules are available at TAPSbus. On local route 301, there are 9 designated stops. On route 302, there are 8 stops. All stops are at or near popular destinations in Allen including, major retail locations, hotels, medical centers, office parks, and city buildings. Each route takes approximately 30 minutes each way to complete. A complete list of bus stop locations is available online at TAPSbus/allen.
