TARGETS: Core, shoulders, triceps and chest and overall strength. THE EXERCISE 1) Keep your arms close to your body and not flared out. 2) Engage your core muscles and keep your head forward 3) Come down at least 90 degrees and push back up, maintaining a solid core. ALTERNATIVE: Can also be done on the knees (use a mat if necessary) REPS: Try as many as you can in 1 MINUTE One of the most common bodyweight exercises but always overlooked. On average, it is said that you are pushing about 60% to 70% of your bodyweight and about 50% if done on the knees. So if you weigh 150lbs your pushing about 90lbs and 75lbs on your knees. The beauty is this can be done anywhere and as you improve on this move you can add variations to increase the difficulty such as declined pushups, diamond pushups or staggered pushups. Even adjusting your speed will work your muscles intensively. The ball is in your court. Decide what best works for you ;) Be the BEST you can Be!
