TASTE OF THE GLEN BY “INSERT YOUR NAME HERE” RACE DAY RECIPE CONTEST CALL FOR ENTRIES! WATKINS GLEN, NY - The Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce and Watkins Glen International (WGI) have teamed up again for the Taste of the Glen by “Insert Your Name Here” Race Day Recipe Contest! If you love to cook and have a great Race Day Recipe, share it with us for your chance to have your recipe served to international race media at the WGI Media Center and the naming rights of the contest. Watkins Glen is home to the largest outdoor, weekend sporting event in New York State - NASCAR Cheez-It 355™ at the Glen (August 7 – 10). The winning recipe will be provided to the media on Friday, August 8 as the Chamber showcases the many things to see and do in the region beyond the checkered flag. All submissions must be made by August 1, 2014. The winner must be present with the Chamber at the WGI Media Center, Friday August 8, to serve the media lunch and a chance for your recipe to go viral. Rules of the Contest are simple: • “Like” Watkins Glen Travel & Tourism Facebook and the Chamber Facebook Page • Upload your Race Day Recipe by August 1 to recipecontest.watkinsglenchamber Bonus Points will be awarded for: • Use of sponsor product (list of sponsors is provided below) • Pairing of Race Day Recipe with a Finger Lakes Beverage (wine, beer, spirits) Sponsors are Cheez-It, Sahlen’s, McDonald’s, Yancey’s Fancy New York Artisan Cheese, Continental Tire, Hazlitt Red Cat, Gatorade, Budweiser, Coca-Cola, Great Western Champagne, Zippo, Bully Hill, Welliver. Located within five (5) hours (~300 miles) of 25% of the US population, Watkins Glen International is the premier road racing facility in the United States. The Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to use the winning Race Day Recipe for any and all promotional purposes. Any time the winning 2013 Race Day Recipe is used or mentioned, the winners name will appear where it says Insert Your Name Here. All Race Day Recipes must be submitted through the submission form below to be considered. Recipes submitted after July 31, 2013 will not be considered for the contest.
