#TBH, I dont think I would have dropped coins for this either. As Erykah Badu stepped onto NY streets in a personal experiment about #hustle, passersby fail to recognize the celebrated songstress with few exceptions. The song begins, I dont wanna get no real job, just wanna be out here singing these songs; gimme your money; the hat is passed; just under an hour nets her $3.60. Seems fitting to me. Reportedly capable of commanding $75-100K per show, the difference between the Grammy-winner on NY streets and on a lit stage is, performance. Had Badu at least sung a verse or two of a more resonating song other than, “I don’t want to get no job, lady, I just want your money,” engagement with and inclination of passersby might have been more profitable. Now, I LOVE me some Erykah, but #IJS #BaduStreetVideo
