TBM 2014-12-03 “Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. A wise man is strong; yea a man of knowledge increaseth strength. For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.” ~ PROVERBS 24:3-6 The word “wisdom” itself is an enigma; partly because we all desire to be wise, and also, when we hear the word wisdom from any source, we usually assume that there must be wisdom with whoever uses the word. Thankfully, we have the sure word of God that identifies whom Wisdom is; the Son of God {Please see Proverbs 8:12, 1 Corinthians 1:30}. And it all starts here; “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His commandments: His praise endureth forever.” {Psalm 111:10} Wisdom is just one of the attributes of God; it is linked, and cannot be broken from love, faith, meekness, judgment (that is, discerning between what is righteous and what is unrighteous), mercy, righteousness etc {James 3:13-17}. We cannot remove any attribute from another, just like salvation, Christ and God are an all inclusive total package. The other day, someone asked; “why is it so wrong to kiss and bow down to the images or statues of Christ, the Virgin Mary, and Apostle Peter etc”? Then we threw in another question, lest we be accused of being judgmental. “Can Christ and God bow down to the images or statues of Christ, the Virgin Mary, any apostle or Christian saint?” An honest answer will be a veil remover! We therefore concluded that, in the light of God’s commandment; “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: thou shall not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquities of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me:” {Exodus 20:4-5}, it seems unwise to think that God will break His word or His commandment. Anyway, there can’t be any image or statue as good looking as Jesus. Now let us all see this as clearly as possible; a Christian believer is one who has God (Christ) living in them {please see Romans 8:9, 11}. One of the most important reasons Jesus Christ died for man is so that man can be united with God again and be one in the spirit, soul and body of anyone who will believe. God will not bow down to anything, neither should anyone attempt to force God, who lives in them to bow down to anything, image, statue or likeness; He won’t break His word under any condition, this is why He is God and will be God for eternity. This is saying it nicely; as temples and carriers of God, our options are limited. We are to reverence the God in us. What God would not do, He does not expect us to do, particularly when it is not necessary, neither do we have any example to imitate or to follow. The just shall live by his faith. The above explanations should not restrict anyone from investigating the veracity of this view (from the word of God), that God will not bow down to any image or statue. Everyone is left with the simple freedom to find answers for themselves in their hearts; that is, Christian believers. Stay in the light! “But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:” Amen. God bless and have a good day.
