TBT - DDB Style - A very secluded property was reported to have multiple dogs that needed help with food. This family would show up time and time again at a local rescue asking for food donations. We got the address and took a drive up a very long gravel road to see if we could help and what we found was beyond words. Cats, dogs and goats were tied, chained and confined in small pens amongst trash, debris and feces. All were underweight, flea infested, matted and desperate for someone to help them. There were so many animals we did not know where to begin but some were in worse conditions than others so we started with this little guy. He was tied to a rafter in a barn and his collar was so tight, he was gasping for air. We immediately loosened his collar and talked to the owners about why they had so many animals and explained why the conditions were causing health problems for the dogs. We took the dogs that they were willing to relinquish at that time, made sure all of the animals had food and water and told them we would be back the very next day with more food, proper collars, dog houses, straw, de-wormer and flea control. This project would become a very long one and we will follow up in the coming weeks. This is little Carlton, who was one of the first to be relinquished. Carlton was the sweetest little playful pup who nestled down on a soft blanket on his freedom ride and gave a big sigh of relief. Carlton adjusted very well and was soon adopted by a family who had a boy who wanted a companion all of his own. They have been and are still inseparably.
