TBT - Going to stick with the 50s music for a few days. During the late 1950s, the television began occupying more and more middle class familys living rooms. Saturday night had several popular music shows like Your Hit Parade and Saturday Night Beech-Nut Show with Dick Clark. Your Hit Parade had a cast of dancers and singers performing skits using the top songs of the week. Dick Clarks show featured the actual singer of the popular songs along with interviews. Most every Saturday, my grandmother, mother, brother, sister and I would sit in the living room and watch these shows. There were an abundance of good-looking male singers that captured the hearts of young girls across America.
