#TBT 25 years ago this week I was getting ready to start UT and I remember having a conversation on the front porch with my dad. He explained how one of the guys that worked for him was going to be leaving soon and asked if I would like to try working at Jim Early & Associates for a little while. 25 years later and it’s the only job I’ve ever had. Believe it or not, I had never thought about working for him when I was growing up and was surprised when he asked me. Looking back it made perfect sense because I had been fascinated with video since he brought home one of the very first VCR’s in 1978. I was so fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from the best first hand. He always trusted my judgment and gave me the freedom to explore my own creativity. It’s hard to believe I’ve been on my own for nearly the last 10 years. I miss terribly our time together on Clinch Avenue, but I’m proud to carry on his legacy in the company he started in 1973.
