TBT-July of 1974, a PR shot of me and my mentor and friend R.L. Sporty Carpenter. I had been onboard for a week or two and was just beginning to realize that there was so much more to this man than met the eye! His work ethic was astounding, I had never met a man who worked on the level of my dad. Who could have known that he had but 15 more years to live? I was 32 years old and had the world by the tail---I thought. Read my book based on my journey with this remarkable Arkansas football coach, it is a project I have undertaken in an attempt to fund a football scholarship in his name at his beloved Henderson State University.
