#TBT Today is my 9th wedding anniversary. Have to write oodles this morning so I can go out with Mr. Rylon tonight, but thought Id post a few pictures and tell you a story first. Shh dont tell Mr. Rylon but theyre old pictures of him so they dont count :) So... Whats the deal with the sled in our wedding pictures? We got married in the same park where six months earlier Id had a crazy sledding accident on that ski slope behind us. Mr. Rylon had never been sledding before since he grew up in Louisiana and so on Christmas Eve we trekked out there--too many people in a pickup truck, who were all old enough to know better--after looking at Christmas lights. We got about halfway up the hill and Mr. Rylon bailed out saying that I was going to break my arm and rip my face off. But did I listen? NOOOOO!!!! Instead, my brother ran up the hill and we went down together (illuminated by lights from the pickup truck because were classy like that). He was fine, but I crashed into the mountain of ice on the side of the hill. It was sort of funny at first (clearly my family and friends were so worried they stopped to take pictures) until the ice in my face melted and I started to bleed. Then I realized the sled had cracked and cut through both my leather jacket and my jeans. I remember when we got home to my parents house they thought wed been in a car accident and my grandfather told us not to drink and do stupid things anymore. When I reminded him that I dont drink he just shook his head and said maybe I should start. Ive never been so black and blue in my whole life. Sitting in the car for the 8 hour ride back to Ohio a couple days later was torture and opening Christmas presents was impossible since Id smashed my hands too. Still have a crooked finger from that night! But.... it was worth it for a good story and fun wedding pictures :) Mr. Rylon has still never gone sledding.
