The lady in the picture celebrated her 85th birthday yesterday, I believe...we met running , in the 80s and she is still running, still winning awards; bother and her daughter win every race they attend! Sylvia was a Holocaust survivor and still lives with nightmares from her horrific childhood. But theres a good ending to the story! Her doctors gave her all sorts of meds, that she simply refused to take and took up running instead! She is a living legend! Her name is engraved at Bostons finish line in the winners circle as she was the first woman awarded the first Masters award in Boston!!! She is one of my heroes!!!!! ...John is my other!!!!! Back then they didnt have a name for PTSD, but running changed her life completely! An author took her back to Poland in the 80s and wrote her biography. If you ever come across the book called, The Visitor please, please notify me! There were only 1,000 written.
