TCEDA is proud to announce that the February program for their monthly Speaker Series with be Luke Cairney, Director of the Holton and Atchison region for Highland Community College. He will be giving an entertaining and relatable presentation at Majestic Theater on Feb. 26 at 5:30. This event will be FREE to all. His program, Higher Education Options: Which is the Best Choice For You? is a relatable conversation discussing the daunting task of choosing and paying for college. There are so many options facing a student that just taking the first steps become challenging. Traditional 4-year universities, 2-year community colleges, and specialized technical programs all have fantastic benefits to offer students of all ages. Finding the most comfortable learning environment for a student is the key to educational success, but how do you and your parents glean the best choices? Luke Cairney is the Director of the Holton Center and Atchison region for Highland Community College in northeast Kansas. He has spent his career working in Enrollment Management and Student Life at several universities, including Benedictine College and St. Louis University. Nearly ten years of diverse educational experience have given him a unique and practical point-of-view to share with students and families considering the many educational options they face in their lives. Please, if you are a student or parent interested in any higher education, plan on attending. Mr. Cairney will be giving great advice on the benefits of ALL post-secondary education options, including technical schools and two-year degrees.
