TEAM AIDEN UPDATE: Aiden is doing much better today, is way more stable. Theyve increased his feeds and actually just lowered the rate on the canula again so hopefully he tolerates it this time. Weve noticed that towards the end of his feeds he destats so he may have reflux but he hasnt spit up in a few days. If it gets too bad Im sure will can start him on meds for it. But hes doing great, getting big. Hes 3lbs 7.7oz so hes still gaining about 50 grams a day which is really good.. I know to go home they want him to steadily gain 2 oz so hes getting pretty close to already doing that. And I was also told today that its a definite thing that we will try bottle feedings in about 6 days. Bottle feeding is one of the biggest things he needs to master to go home. If hes eating enough and off of oxygen support, they can still send him home with a monitor and hed be just fine. Id probably prefer it that way so that I know 100 percent that hes ok. But that time is getting closer, who knows we could be home sooner than expected :) the little guy has been making the funniest faces lately, hes obsessed with crossing his eyes. And I let him lay on my lap yesterday because he was wide awake and he was so attentive just staring at everything. Hes getting so big :) Im so proud of him and the progress hes making. He thinks hes and big boy already, we know for a fact that when hes 1800 grams hes going into an open crib because he already runs so hot that they keep having to turn down his bed. Hes sleeping right now and has only had a few bad spells since they lowered the rate so fingers crossed!!
