TEAM TRAVIS UPDATE: The morning started out a little rough. His mouth sores and sore throat (from the chemo) were really hurting. Even with the morphine pump he is still hurting. Dr. Nieto came by and increased his pump meds and Dilaudid dosage to help reduce his pain. He still does his 3 different types of mouth rinses throughout the day and a friend sent him some Essential oils to try. He swished with Clove oil today and it didnt burn, so far so good. Its supposed to help heal the mouth sores. Also, Traviss plateletts were up to 10 but will get another unit today. He will also start receiving Neupogen shots daily in the belly to help increase white cells and speed up the healing process. Its routine to take a stool sample and have it tested to see if there is any infection. Until the results comes back, everyone coming into his room has to wear the yellow gown, blue rubber gloves and a mask, that includes me except I dont have to wear the mask. Not fond of wearing rubber gloves all the time! Surely I wont have to wear them when I go to bed!!! He is feeling a little better this afternoon. He hasnt eaten any food since last Tuesday but this afternoon he asked to eat a honeybun. I cut it up in tiny bites and he ate all of it!!! Praise God for the little blessings!!
