TECH TIP: Proper Oil Filtering You’ve cleaned out the racing bank account and you’ve hammered the credit card to buy that big new engine that will get you to Victory Lane. To keep it running, proper oil filtering is a must. The oil filter should be the last thing the oil passes through before entering that new engine. A good filter should help prevent contamination from shorting the life of the new power plant. One mistake that some teams will make is to reuse old oil lines from a blown engine. Pieces of debris can become lodged in the line and could be the beginning of the end! New oil lines are much cheaper to purchase than the damage that a blown engine can do to your bank account!
