TECH TIP: While there are many theories and tips on how to properly store your car over the long winter months, here are a few to get us pointed in the right direction. One of the first things to do is thoroughly clean and wax the vehicle. Waxing the exterior keeps debris from sticking to the paint. Make sure the interior is clean as well, and no food or crumbs are left behind for animals. Next you can go through a few mechanical tasks: change the engine oil and filter, add fuel stabilizer if you want it and make sure the gas tank is full to prevent condensation build up in the tank and fuel system. Finally, park the vehicle on plastic, as plastic naturally acts as a vapor barrier from moisture. Stay tuned – next week we’ll have a few more tips on storing your car!
