TECHNICALLY....A blizzard warning is issued when sustained winds or gusts reach 35mph and there is considerable blowing snow for a period of 3hrs or longer...therefore no Blizzard Warning has been officially issued by the NWS, HOWEVER, after just trekking through northern Indiana and lower Michigan to get to South Bend, I am telling you...CONDITIONS OUTSIDE ARE BLIZZARD LIKE. I was on 31, 94, 80/90 and white out conditions are commonplace, roads are like a sheet of ice and winds are still howling. So please plan to get home, stay home and enjoy the night tucked in under the covers or stoke up a big fire if you have a fireplace. It is BRUTAL outside tonight and those conditions will prevail through the day on Thursday. If you plan to drive further north in Michigan, think again...heavier snow up near Grand Rapids.
