TELL YOUR SALVATION STORY: This Sunday night the Salvation Army - TopicsExpress

TELL YOUR SALVATION STORY: This Sunday night the Salvation Army will be the topic of discussion on a nationwide radio show on Newstalk ZB. They would love to have your participation! Each week on ‘Total Recall’, hosts Sam & Jax look at a different topic from ‘this week in history’. This week in 1883 two young English Salvation Army officers, Captain George Pollard and Lieutenant Edward Wright, arrived at Port Chalmers. Their mission was to establish a New Zealand branch of the Salvation Army, which had been founded in the slums of London’s East End in 1865. Incredibly, they were aged just 20 and 21 respectively, and within 18 months they had established 30 ‘corps’ and more than 60 full-time officers in New Zealand. We’ll simply be asking listeners to call 0800 80 10 80 and “tell us your Salvation Army story”. We’d love to be able to showcase lots of quick, lively, enthusiastic, positive stories about the incredible impact the Salvation Army has had on NZ people, and society over these many years. The stories can be from any time in history – last week, or last century. If you, or someone you know, has been helped by the Salvation Army to overcome challenges or difficulties – to find hope and restoration, we’re particularly keen to hear your story. Please listen, call in yourself, and encourage anyone you know to listen and call in. Be in quick, because the time disappears in a heartbeat! Total Recall with Sam and Jax from 6.05pm-7:30pm Call 0800 80 10 80 Thanks and God bless, Phil Guyan CBA Trust (Christian Broadcasting Association)
