TEMPLE RUN ( Throwback) “My Angkorwat Half Marathon Experience” (Siem Reap, Cambodia) By:MGR Temple run as we are all familiar with is an endless running video game. This is exactly what I experienced at the 18th Angkorwat Half Marathon last Dec. 1, 2013. With the seemingly endless beautiful view and route makes a runner not want to end the run. It was my 2nd international run and marked my 16th official half marathon record. It was actually a scheduled vacation and a run together with my running friend Weng Chang, Sir Mike and Bing Ermac. The 18th Angkorwat Half Marathon was simply organized, it’s like running here in Bacolod. I was even surprised to see the race bib made from a Pelon material, and the timing chip was returned after the race for future use. There was no fancy tarps at the starting line like we have here. It was a just a plain signage made of sack and attached to the bamboo poles at both ends. But hey, this is an international event and all the flags of different countries were displayed there. Beside me during the race, were all foreigners from different countries having their vacation at Siem Reap, Cambodia. A total of 8,000 plus runners joined that half marathon race. The weather that day was sunny but the temperature is low. It was a perfect day to run. As I stride my way to the finish line, I observed that the water stations who were manned by children. It was really heartbreaking to see those children who mostly are land mine victims and disabled. Some runners brought candies and gave some to the children along the route. Some kids even gave me a high five and continue to cheer “Keep goin’ Madam”. That was truly inspiring. I’m sharing this experience because this year, Enervon Active is having a promo ( an all expense paid trip) to Siem Reap to join the Angkorwat Half Marathon. Deadline of submission of entries will be on Oct.31, 2014. I am encouraging you all to join the said promo because I really wanted you experience the same. As I was running through the trees, the lake, the temples, many reflections dawn upon me. The sight of those poor little children who were landmine victims brought tears to my eyes. As I was approaching the finish line, so many were cheering, go..go..go... It’s always a victorious experience crossing the finish line and my heart would always melt nourishing that moment. A truly wonderful TEMPLE RUN experience. ENERVON ACTIV - Temple Run Digital Promo unilabactivehealth
