TEMPTATION……a reality we have all experienced. Let’s understand this clearly---it is not a sin to be tempted. The problem with temptation is that when we give into it we sin---against God--and that is bad. We sincerely recognize that we cannot live a sinless life here on Earth but we sin less and less as we so no more and more to temptation. The devil comes to us with his lies about the attractions, and affections of this world and some times we fall for it when sometimes it is some wrong act he wants us to do or some good act he does not want us to do. In the book of James we read,’ To him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is a sin.” So giving in to a temptation is serious business. Here is a short poem of 4 lines that has the power to help you say no to temptation. Sin carries you further than you want to go. Sin teaches you more that you need to know. Sin keeps you longer than you want to stay. Sin costs you more than you want to pay. Memorize this little poem and the next time temptation comes your way it will a lot easier to say no. One time a man was talking to an old country Parson and he said, “ I don’t ever meet up with the devil.” The wise old Parson replied, “ That means you and he are all ready walking in the same direction.” If you are living the Christian life you WILL meet up with the devil. Be ready for him. The poem will help you. It has helped me. May the Peace of God be upon you…..Jim Please share---Thank you
