TEN COMMANDMENTS OF GOOD BUSINESS ETHICS Gandhi was not a corporate honcho. He never had a Management Degree to his credit. But, his vision regarding Business Ethics can stump any Management Degree Holder completely. The Ten Commandments as proposed by Late Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi is as follows: 1. A Client is the most important person in any business. 2. A Client is not dependent on us; we are depending on the client. 3. A Client is not an interruption of work; he is the purpose of it. 4. A Client does a favour when he calls on us; we are not doing any favour in return by serving the client. 5. A Client is part of our business - not an outsider. 6. A Client is not a cold static - the client is a flesh- and blood human being with feeling and emotions. 7. A Client is not some one to argue or match wits with. 8. A Client is a person who brings us his wants; it is our bounden duty to fulfil those wants. 9. A Client deserves the most courteous and attentive treatment from us. 10. A Client is the life and blood of this and every business. May be in this 21st Century, Organizations might brush aside the above thoughts as too idealistic, but they would be doing so, at their own peril.
