TENSION RISING FOR THE COLLARING OPERATION TOMORROW The collars are ready for deployment! The tension is mounting as we get all the tools and equipment in place.... Many thanks to African Wildlife Tracking for making up the collars on short notice and to Paul De Luca who kindly delivered them. We are still keeping tabs of Soshangane who has teamed up with breeding herd who contains one of our collared cows, Yvonne. We had removed a snare from Yvonne’s foot many years ago and are pleased to announce that she is roaming freely and widely across our study area ever since! We will start our collaring operation with Soshangane tomorrow. Then we hope to find another cow and a particular bull further north. The search is in full swing for these other individuals who seemed to have melted away into the African bush.... We are still hoping to take to the air with Bruce McDonald as soon as the wind dies down..... All these efforts come at considerable cost.
