Whilst working in hospitals in the UK, France and Malta, Vera is forced to confront the horrors of war, as the lives of her brother, fiancé and their fellow comrades are tragically taken. In spite of her life-changing experiences whilst working as a nurse, Vera returns to Oxford to complete her studies. An entirely changed woman, Vera becomes determined to cement her family’s legacy in history, and allow future generations to learn from their harrowing experiences. Brought to you by British director, James Kent, The Testament of Youth is a moving historical drama, which depicts the pain and anguish that war can bring. The film is based on Vera’s own memoirs and stars Alicia Vikander as the leading role, alongside Kit Harington as her onscreen fiancé Roland.
