TEXAS CITY - Texas City Police and State Troopers are investigating what was reported as an airplane crash this afternoon on Levee Road on the waters edge. When first responders arrived at the scene they discovered a student pilot from an aviation school at Ellington Field had to make an emergency landing when the engine on the small plane failed. A Texas City Police Captain Brian Geotschius said no one in the plane was injured. The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate to determine the exact cause of the malfunction.
