RIVERA September 28, 2013 MUSINGS FROM A HOSPITAL: SEVEN With the Tonongs hovering the Kambayoka mythical sky, Pilandok rolled his magic banig into unprecedented fame to become Everyman: he was no longer the obscure Meranao folk character tricked by small fry Bombola, bullied by Busaon, the Witch, & bamboozled by the sly Suminsang & Sultan Suminsang & cunning Bai Potre; but he has transformed into the Filipino Common Tao trying to find his niche in the universe. We were all Pilandoks battling our own demons, seeking refuge under our angels’ wings and emerging wiser & tougher. We could just be specks of eternity but like Pilandok, we have made a difference. Kambayoka made that quantum leap by changing attitudes and general outlook. It could not have happened hat it not for the Pilandoks in our midst. Indeed, myths are more potent than reality. Reality bites while myths provide hope. And in the ever changing world of magic & wonder, greed & corruption, hope is ever reliable.
