TFHS Class of 64 Legacy Project--Faculty Lounge Courtyard As a - TopicsExpress

TFHS Class of 64 Legacy Project--Faculty Lounge Courtyard As a follow-up to last summers reunion, the planning committee formed a study and recommendations group consisting of Susan Stivers Waters, Curtis Eaton, Leonard Anderson and Dennis Hannel to identify a legacy project for the class of 64. The purpose of the legacy project is to create an appropriate and enduring symbol of our collective appreciation for TFHS, the facility, staff, and administration. As you know if you toured the high school last summer there have and continue to be significant improvements to the high school physical plant, funded mainly through local tax revenue. The group worked with school officials and the Twin Falls School District Educational Foundation to identify a project which would both meet the classes objectives and which would otherwise go unfunded. The project selected is the construction of an area off the teachers lounge consisting of a concrete circular courtyard, a low wall for sitting on, a tree, shrubs, grasses, rock accents, etc. (see accompanying illustrations). It was felt that the location of the courtyard was especially significant given the number of our classmates whos parents were faculty members. While the project is scalable based upon contributions, the cost of the courtyard as currently designed is approximately $10,000. It is my understanding that based solely upon word of mouth contributions of nearly a thousand dollars have already been made. I urge you to make your tax-deductible contributions to the address below. I will keep you apprised of the fund raising progress. Please make checks payable to: TFSD Education Foundation P.O. Box 1182 Twin Falls, ID 83303-1182 Please identify your contribution as TFHS Class of 64 project
