THAI ARMY : THAILAND AIDS. This a concern only about the heads of thai army. Not about troops. But, who knows... Brief historical. When thai army was confronted in war conflicts, modern times. France-Indochine Thailand, 1940-1941. Exploiting the weakness of the french colonialism in Indochina after the defeat of France against Germany, Thailand engaged a war to retrieve some lands in Lao and Kampouchea. Winning some fields, the thai navy lost nearly all her armada in a rank of one to four sea battle. Japan, the powerfull country at that times forced France to agree an armistice in favor of Thailand. In thai history, in schools, its a complete thai victory that is taught with also a monument in Bangkok, the Victory Monument, dedicated to this false triumph! Then, during the second Wolrd War, after a quick spanking by the japanese forces, thai government and army colaborate completely with japanese conquering. But Thailand was forgiven after the defeat because of the future outlook of the USA in this area, in Asia. In the Vietnam War, some thai troops were engaged with the GIs. Of course, Thailand did not lose this war but, again, the thai army choose the wrong ally... At that time, the communist guerilla inside Thailand had never been surrended in front of the thai army. It ends with negociations and general amnisty. In 1988, the War Hills against the Laos. Despite tanks, helicopters, aircrafts on her side, thai army could not do anithing with laotian army whose some of them were fighting in sandals. 2/3 of the deaths was on the thai side. Preah Vihear Temple, 2011... What else to say? Even with their F16, tanks aso, the Temple is stil khmer! Ratchaprasong War, 2010. Official sources gave 90-91 deads ( some about 700...). Thai army killed 90 disarmed civils demonstrators. Not one of the thousand ( 1000 !!!) thai generals had ever been confronted to a real bloody war to protect his country. So what is the thai army good for? Kill their own citizen. I would like to see the magnificient generalissime Prayut in front, face to face with a simple red shirt peasant.
