Sarah Carlisle (Siri Kirtan Kaur) Thai Yoga Bodywork with Marma Therapy & Thai Yoga Workshop Please welcome Sarah to The Yoga Space! Sarah Carlisle (Siri Kirtan Kaur) is a skilled practitioner of Thai Yoga Massage, Ayurvedic Massage, and Marma Therapy. In addition, she is a certified Yoga teacher in the Kundalini and Hatha styles and a certified Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counselor. A life long musician, she also tours with internationally renown sacred chant artists Snatam Kaur and David Newman (Durga Das). Sarah customizes each treatment so that it is balancing for the individual on both physical and energetic levels. She brings a great deal of presence to each touch, filled with healing intention. In addition, she is happy to offer self-care advice (yoga, meditation, diet) in order to maintain optimal levels of health between sessions. Thai Yoga Bodywork with Marma Therapy (offered Tues. and Wed. mornings) A dynamic bodywork therapy based on the healing sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda, born in the of Thailand. In this unique healing system of Thai Yoga (also called Nuad Boran and widely known as traditional Thai massage), the practitioner guides the recipient through a series of assisted yoga postures (requiring no effort from the client) while palming, thumbing, (as well as kneeing, & elbowing!) along the bodys Sen lines (meridians) and Marma points. Marmas are the junction points between body, mind, and emotions. Using gentle pressure, the vital energy points are stimulated for restoration and rejuvenation, awakening your inner healing system. Thai massage is performed on a mat on the floor, and it is recommended for the recipient to wear loose, comfortable clothing. No oils or creams are used. Thai Massage Workshop Saturday, July 19th, 2-5pm Born in the temples of Thailand, Thai Yoga Massage is a dynamic bodywork therapy based on the healing sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda. A Thai Yoga session incorporates a series of assisted yoga postures combined with rhythmic compressions of the Sen (energy) lines using the palms, thumbs, feet, knees, and elbows! Come on your own or bring a friend or partner to learn the basics of Thai Yoga Massage! Working together we will learn a simple, half hour sequence that you can take home to practice on family and friends. We will all leave thoroughly massaged! No prior yoga or massage experience is necessary. Please dress in loose, comfortable clothing. Mats and props will be provided.
