THANK GOD I DECIDED TO GO TO MEDICAL SCHOOL: .... ....Before I begin my acceptance speech for such a remarkable reward; I would like to share my insight on the term professionalism.... ... What is professionalism?? Well I believe professionalism is the same thing as self persevering. I mean, to lay a brick is a huge step toward, a solid foundation and ones passions must be sincere, of their actions. Total accountability. So it is a mere fact, professionalism must be, the backbone of progression and the guidelines of success. What is professionalism?? We should view it as the measurement of ones enthusiasm. The heart desires must be set, at an utmost highest! Today, I present to you my dedication towards professionalism. I, Colby Finkley have set aside my circumstances, in order to be a professional, at what I do. To my classmates, I have promised to respect you all and have loyalty. To my instructors at API, Ive promised to execute every aspect of the medical field that you all have taught, with dignity. I have also promised to have integrity and take the initiative, at any necessary point. To this entire API organization/staff, I have fulfilled only a small part of what it stands for to have been an API student; therefore I must promise, to stand with propulsion; in order to represent well, the walks of an API student. I will continue my journey becoming, an exact replica, while having dignity and class. My compromises to choose to be a professional, keep coming true, as I continue to show the world what it looks like to be a former API student. To my patients and futre patients, every ounce of the humanities, within the epitome, of my soul. All of my desires for the medical field, belongs to you. Yall deserve it the most. I promise to allow my heart and knowledge to continue to grow, while having patience. A big heart, thats built for this field must be kind, courteous, lenient, flexible, and caring at all times. I not only promise, but will at all times strive to make, every single patient, healing process as warm and kosher, as possible. My compassion will continuously come from my soul, to assure comforting environments. Step by step, day by day, I promise to be at your side. Just remember to lay one brick at a time, one day at a time. Also remember, to lay one brick is the same, as to move one mountain... And to move one mountain.... Is to count another blessing. Just as well that I have already promised to be the very best care taker that I can possibly be... Pure & Open heartedly, everyday and every step of the way... I promise to be right here with you patiently, helping you lay your bricks. And before you know it we both will be standing, side by side, strong in health. Last but not at all least, to the physicians and other care takers that I have had the opportunity to work under. As you have witnessed, I have both consciously and unconsciously, taken on the task of becoming a professional, a long time ago. Therefore my approach to recieving this award is never the less modest and humble. However, I do feel as if I earned it honestly and will use it as motivation, to continue to grow. I honor each and everone of you; who has come upon my path, in order to push out my best qualities. Such manifestations are appreciated, as I embark on this enduring journey, for I can never stop learning. To these physicians I promise to continue to strive and learn, in order to become even better, than where I stand today. As you all honor me, I honor you all for assisting my endeavours. Again, I express my gratitude... I thank you all for this remarkable journey. I could not be up here accepting this wonderful award without any of you. In final, my desires are to climb higher altitudes within my aptitudes and the skills that endure in a ranch like myself. Thank you all!!!
