THANK YOU BRUCE Marrickville Football Club Founder Bruce Livingston Has Passed Away The Marrickville Soccer Football Club was founded in 1945 by Bruce Livingston who was then a student at Newington College. Bruce and a group of boys played soccer each afternoon, after school at Henson Park. A team was formed that year and they played two friendly games against a Drummoyne Club U/14 team, winning one game and losing one. In 1946 the club was formed officially and two teams were entered in the Canterbury District Soccer Football Association to begin the clubs ongoing participation with association in being one of the largest in the district today. We are thankful to Mr Bruce Livingstons passion and dedication in taking the initiative to form this great club where his legacy will long be a part of this clubs history. The funeral service for Mr Bruce Livingston will be held this coming Wednesday at 2pm at the All Saints Church at Petersham. All club members are welcome to attend.
