THANK YOU DETROIT-Mother Alice Jennings, Tangela Harris, Fred, Stephanie, Babba Aziz, Cassandra , Mrs Ann, Queen Abrihet, Russ Bellant, Brother Turner, Ann Grimmett and Meeko! I will add the other names as they come to me. YOU did cooperative work and helped to revive our Dexter Elmhurst Center one more time! THIS IS THE LETTER FROM MOTHER MOORE: Just got back from Chicago. I am exhausted, but inspired. God always has a ram in the bush when we are trying to do right. When I put the word out that we needed donations to pay our water bills and to pay the back fees on the Dexter building and safety problems, I did not expect the wonderful support that all of you in We The People would provide. It worked. I was able to pay the back inspection fees while Russ worked to repair the problems to make sure we complied. Meeko just called and said they would donate $200. on the next months water bills which are approximately $700 a month. Just wanted you to know that you came through first and we were able to show the judge that we had paid the back fees. We have $400.00 in our account + Meeko said that they would donate $200.00. We can scrape together the balance and have another fundraiser next month. To show you how much I appreciate your concern and generosity, I wore your shirt on national TV in Chicago. You came through for our community. We have much work to do, but I am sure that with you and God on our side we will accomplish this mission of getting the center fully functioning. May God bless all of you while the Struggle Continues. Much love and respect. Going to bed. I love you and will keep working on this issue. Monica and Debra Sent from my iPhone On Oct 26, 2014, at 8:27 PM, helen moore wrote: Thank you Monica. Met today at the center with the treasurer, Ms. Henley. Went over the books. We were short. The fees for inspection must be paid by tomorrow. We go to court on Tuesday at 9am. Ms Henley will represent us because I have to be in Chicago with the other black and brown school districts over the school problems. Jesse Jackson will meet with us also. When we looked at out balance we were over $200.00 short. I put the money in. We must pay the city $1,500 for back fees. Our next months water bill is due next week of $750. due to them adding our past balance and dividing it up into 24 payments as well as our monthly usage. I am begging everyone I know for help. So far your group is the only one that has raised money to help. Russ Bellant and I will be at the center to complete repairs of the violations at 8am tomorrow. If you can send or bring the money made out to the Dexter-Elmhurst Center I would greatly appreciate it. Then I must take the money we have in our account to pay what we owe to building and safety. I will try to get someone to inspect the last of the violations before the court date on Tuesday. If we do not, we will be fined a lot of money. Again thank you for your help. I am taking this one day at a time and keeping my faith in God. I got your call and am amazed at how much you have collected.
