THANK YOU! Dear ones! Im sitting with a suspecting dog in my lap thinking of all the things that are not yet in the suitcase enjoying a last cup of coffee, and preparing to go pick up several Wesley Foundation students as I also drop off the suspecting dog at his Aunt Karen Bueches house. The occasion is both an rest from an exciting and very busy Advent season and Christmas day and that it is about time to head to the airport and depart for India on our mission to the Warne Babyfold! As often as I have been fortunate to go to serve the people of India and the children of this historic Methodist orphanage there is still a faster beating of my heart and pretty much a sleepless night of thinking, praying, expectation and found memories. This visit has even more anticipation as I prepare to baptize my new grand-daughter, Avisha (The Gift from God in Hindi), and lead our team and the children of the Babyfold in their annual Watch Night Service. The baptism will also commemorate David and Anjalis fifth anniversary. This couple have conceived and lost three babies in the five years they have been married. Avisha, an adoption, is truly a gift from God. Im thankful to you for both the time to be away with my adopted family but also for you generous gift at Christmas. You did not know it but just a few days before Amy and Marilyn presented your gifts David had called in great concern in that an additional cost was involved in the adoption process. His own resources were already depleted with legal fees. I had spoken with my bank about a temporary loan and was to complete the process early last week. Your gifts made that unnecessary. So you understand my joy and thanksgiving for you and your love! You are now part of what makes the joy of this young couple! Thank you so much. While I am so thankful for the gift, I doubt you ever dreamed it would be so significant an impact for me, and now, for my larger family. You are a part of this gift from God in a great way! This is the blogspot and Facebook site that they can use to keep up with our Indian mission December 26-January 9. We will be refurbishing a dorm for girls who live in the country and must come to Bareilly, India to go to school during the week. And, we will do a VBS for the Warne Babyfold orphanage. All of these are on the campus of the famous Clara Swain Hospital unique in United Methodist history. The UMW girls will know all about it as it has been in their studies for the past few years and has been one of the more popular UMW mission sites until a few years ago when it was sold to a private concern. The bogspot is: lavimindia14.blogspot The Facebook site is: LAVIM India 2014-15 I do hope that you will keep up with the mission and that you will be in prayer for us as we labor in the vineyards. I go in mission representing St Lukes UMC and Ingleside UMC. You are sending this missionary and I hope that in the near future that many of you will join me in mission. Mission is the doorway to discipleship; it is the role and call of those who are Christ followers. Our mission in April to St Marks UMC in NOLA and the Rampart Community Center is just such a mission and it will be made up of Ingleside and St Luke members. I hope you will be part of this mission! I look forward to many more years of ministry with and to you on the St Lukes/Ingleside Charge. We have only begun to have fun, to get to know each other and to begin to discover where and how God is calling us. May this New Year bring us greater challenges and goals in ministry and mission as God directs our path! See you next year! Larry
