THANK YOU MOTHER BY DIANE 2013 I thank you for marrying my dad and giving me a new start I thank you because when I became blind you opened your home and heart I thank you for teaching me to make a propper clean and comfortable bed I thank you for sewing me warm cordurroy skirts of blue and red I thank you for teaching me to vacuum, sweep and wash floors I thank you for showing me how to shop and behave in stores I thank you for teaching me to propperly set and clear a table I thank you for helping me with my blindness to become capable I thank you for teaching me to wash dishes and sinks I thank you for showing me how to pull weeds around plants of green and pinks I thank you for teaching me to care for my body and hair I thank you for teaching me games to play and share I thank you for teaching me the value of school, recreation and church groups I thank you for encouraging me to jump rope, skate, and use hula hoops I thank you for teaching me politeness and using good manners to eat I thank you for teaching me to hang and fold my clothes so neat I thank you for teaching me to be respectful and modest I thank you for a quiet home for propper sleep and rest I thank you for showing me the importance of forgiveness I thank you for helping me to care about others happiness I thank you for the variety of food you made sure I ate everyday I thank you for helping me to learn bible verses and do my best to live Gods way I thank you for being a mother that did not yell and swear I thank you for becoming my stepmother when my own mother was unable to love and care Last, I thank you for everything and I am sure you know As a child love and affection I didnt understand how to show So on this Thanksgiving day Im giving this poem to you Signed with thank you, hugs, and I LOVE YOU.
