THANK-YOU Much appreciated to the crews of the Bob Barker, Sam - TopicsExpress

THANK-YOU Much appreciated to the crews of the Bob Barker, Sam Simon and Steve Irwin for their birthday greetings. Yes I am 64 years old today, the same year lamented by the Beatles with their song When Im 64. It seems that the answer to the question in that song is yes and for that I am very happy. My lovely Yana surprised me with a party last night with many friends from France and Alex Cornelissen who came down from Amsterdam. It was a very pleasant surpass to see Jacques Perrin and my friends in Paris. Thank-you for the incredible gifts. I started rescuing wildlife, especially beavers from traps, 53 years ago in 1961. Its been 43 years since I first sailed on the Greenpeace Too to Amchika and 37 years since I established the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. At the dinner last night, for fun, I switched the number on the cake from 64 to 46 because that is how I feel. I am thankful to be alive after decades of confrontations and risky adventures, happy to be in love, happy to have a wonderful daughter and grand-daughter, happy to have loving sisters, and happy to have so many friends and supporters around the world. It makes me very happy to have the Bob Barker departing today for the Southern Ocean from Tasmania and it is my hope that they will deliver the gift of life to thousands of Antarctic Toothfish. Having six ships on the sea protecting life in the Ocean gives me immense joy and I appreciate all of the crews that make it possible for these ships to do what they need to do. Yesterday was my sister Rosemaries birthday. Tomorrow is my sister Sharyns birthday. A very happy birthday to them both. Another year comes to pass, and with it the opportunity for more challenges, more victories for the ocean and more possibilities for lasting change in our efforts to make this a better world for all species for the future.
