THANK YOU SORORS! Today, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.- State of Maryland hosted our first event for the 2014-2015 sorority year with The Black Womens Agenda, Inc. and AARP: Because We Care Forum which provides support to African-American Women Caregivers and their Families. Two informative panels occurred that addressed The Real Cost of Caregiving and The Art of Taking Care of Yourself While Taking Care of Others. The panelist were all experts in their respective fields and provided nuggets of wisdom to empower the 200 participants that attended the event. THANK YOU to my Sorors of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.- State of Maryland for rolling out the Blue Carpet of hospitality to all who entered the Zeta Center today. Members of the local community, as well as, members from the other 18 collaborative organizations that are members of The Black Womens Agenda along with Zeta felt welcomed, catered too, supported and assisted throughout the days event. You never cease to amaze me and you are never tiring in your efforts to serve and go above and beyond the call of duty in the Name and for the Love of Zeta! A special shoutout to our MDS Protocol Coordinator Soror Camelia Clark for coordinating our State Protocol Committee who were on point and call for every task required to make this day a total success. Not only was the presence of Zeta seen, it was felt with a deep love and passion of service and sisterhood to all. THANK YOU Alpha Zeta Chapter and the Myrtle Tyler Faithful Fund for allowing us to use the Zeta Center for Healthy and Active Aging to host todays forum. Having the forum in the Park Heights Community of Baltimore allowed us to cater to the population of women who are statistically represented in this area at alarming rates. As one of the premier Senior Centers in Baltimore, and the only Senior Center in Zeta, I THANK YOU for the foresight and trailblazing vision to establish a facility to address the needs of our elders, especially in a community where there were no resources available. THANK YOU Madam International President Mary Breaux Wright for your leadership, passion and vision to adopt as a programmatic priority for our sisterhood Elder Care. Now more than ever, our communities need to be informed, prepared and knowledgable about caregiving. We have always been a community of people that have faced challenges head on and with tenacity, especially those family related. But as our International President has stated, A Good Zeta is a Well Informed Zeta not only addresses our knowledge about the sisterhood, but covers being informed about those issues and concerns that affect our communities and homes. The comments expressed by those who attended and were a part of todays event were simply awesome. You have made a mark and impact that cannot be erased. Know that what you did today has impacted others to address this concern and seek the resources needed to meet the challenge. You also set-the-bar on hosting and collaborating with other organizations to execute effective programming with fidelity. Your leadership is contagious and your service is stellar. Im so blessed, honored and humbled that God has allowed me to be the servant leader to such a dynamic group of women. Zeta is a Verb and YOU put her to ACTION today and exemplified her principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood. THANK YOU for Answering the Call One and ALL! Be Blessed and ETJ...Enjoy The Journey, Danielle R. Green Maryland State Director Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.- State of Maryland
