THANK YOU!!!! This school & this community never ceases to amaze me. The support shown by the teachers, administration, students, parents & fans of Parkersburg South Football is overwhelming. With the loss of our beloved principal, Tom Eschbaucher, I had my concerns about how our Patriots would move forward. If yesterdays events are any indication of what is to come, we should be excited about the future. Maria Bailey stepped into her administrative role with flying colors by organizing a pep rally and showing true Patriot Pride. When Mr. McCartney was put on the spot by Cody Nutter asking him to take a pie to the face in his place at the pep rally, Mr. McCartney proudly accepted the challenge. This shows true dedication to what the administrators will do for their students. Eight teachers stepped up and accepted the Whip FA challenge by taking pies to the face. David Foggin added some extra excitement by pledging to be pied if $500 was raised by halftime. Altogether, Annas Army collected $2,410 to send to the Friedriechs Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA). The football boosters raffled two signed footballs, the belles passed a bucket, the teachers collected donations in milk jugs, the golf team got pied and the band took the ice bucket challenge for donations. When we all combine our efforts for one cause, the sky is the limit. Thank you from the entire McCrady & Gordon families for helping us in our battle with Friedriechs Ataxia. Anna Gordon, herself, described it best at the pep rally by saying, Here at South, we dont fight battles alone. We are STRONG. We are PATRIOTS!
