THANKSGIVING DAY 19: I thank God that He has given me a heart to love Him with all that I am and all that I have. The desire of my heart is filled with a desire to give all---not because I HAVE TO...but because I want to---because of His great Love for you and for me. I want my heart continually enlarged so I can serve Him better every day of my life...what is sad is the number of Christians who think being IN LOVE with God and on fire for Him is legalism. As one dear brother said to me, following a family union: some of the family asked about his dedication to the Lord, and he expressed his zeal for God and they said to Him: that is legalism. He answered, and rightly so: no, its not legalism...its love. I thank God for a God given desire to serve Him with every fiber of my being and not with one ounce less...to be the very best I can be in life and service for my Master...I have failed Him so many times...yet each time I turn back...He dusts me off...gives me a bath and puts me right back in the race...and He will do or has done the same for each one of you. I am wired by the Holy Spirit to be this way. Reading from Psalms 132 this morning I came across the following verses and my heart lept with joy within my body like John in Elizabeths womb...this is me, this is my desire, this is the heart God has given me...this is the one thing I do...SURELY I will not enter my house, nor lie on my bed; I will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids; until I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob (Psl 132:3-5). For the above reasons I desire for myself and those I work with and fellowship with to grow spiritually and give Him our all and for the body of Christ to do the same...His zeal consumes me...and if I am accused of being over zealous for my Lord and Savior...so be it...David danced before the Lord with all his might and was despised for it...and he said that he would be even more zealous...may that be our cry as well. You who have the same spiritual motor...we may not touch many lives...only find a few burning hearts...but in touching a few...we will be imparting life to many. I close with a story I recently read concerning a man who was the Sunday School teacher of D. L. Moody...at the end of his life he thought he had not accomplished much...just spent time teaching kids in Sunday School...and then someone reminded him: you may think you have done little...but in the end, the fruit of your ministry is all the lives that D. L. Moody has led to the Lord because of the invest of your life and time into him. May all the true servants of the Lord take this to heart and: be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit to FAITHFUL MEN AND WOMAN, who shall be able to teach others also. Endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that wars entagles himself with the affairs of this life; THAT HE MAY PLEASE Him who has chosen him to be a soldier (2 Tim 2:1-4)
